Mathon Paris meets all the criteria: the Paris born and bred jewelry house is celebrating its 90th anniversary. A family history made of excellence, elegance and distinctive flair. A legacy of elegance

It started with Atelier Bournadet before becoming Maison Mathon: four generations of craftsmen have passed along their expertise to weave the very identity of Mathon Paris, a blend of technical command of all arts and a unique sense of creativity. Along the lines of the recent collaboration between Mathon Paris and French artist Emeline Piot, the home made precious pieces embody a unique untamed imaginary world where rich tales of fancy animals and abundant botanical species intertwine – resulting in remarkable, ageless precious jewels that highlight the company’s one of a kind path since 1931.

Mathon’s flagship feature is to in-house accommodate the full chain of production, from design to manufacturing, and even hosting rare to forgotten techniques, providing a complete command of all pieces, each of them more incredible than the previous one. From casting to polishing, marquetry to enameling, all challenging assemblies are within the reach of Mathon Paris’s expert hands and knowledge. The company received the EPV Label (Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant), a French distinction rewarding ancient know-how safeguarded by a handful of expert craftsmen.

Definitely ‘Parisienne’, Mathon Paris is a valued partner for famous houses and iconic names settled on Place Vendome. The passion for jewels runs in the family and Aude, the founder’s granddaughter, along with her husband Jean-Baptiste, are now supervising the company. Another distinctive feature for Mathon Paris is this boundless creative universe that plays on a colorful palette to compose bold yet delicate jewelry pieces.

While the company mainly exports its creations to Japan and USA, its presence in the European sphere remains limited. The indisputable quality and freshness of these incredible designs however deserve a well-earned space in retailers’ catalogue.

Bold is the new black

Bold is what makes the difference”, here is one of our mottos at Le Sens du Détail, as we encourage retailers in considering distinctive identities. More than often, the displays are too similar from a boutique to another. Classic, made-to-last jewels compete with fancy, summer-long-only pieces while there definitely is extra space for bold, audacious choices – only for tenants to dare exposing them. The jewelry industry is rich with creative, playful contents, upon which emotions can rise, sparks can ignite, and marvel can bloom. Mathon Paris is undoubtedly one of these unusual jewel makers in a traditional industry landscape, displaying a dreamlike world miles away from conventional pristine minimalism. While the botanical flair behind the Florilège series plays on delicate shades, Mathon Paris also explores the intricate details of the organic and animal reigns in its Bestioles and Merveilles de la Mer collections. The jewels feature a rich, yet serene ballet of shapes and tones. Meet “Grenouille”, a lively ring that may spring anytime from your finger.

Bague grenouille

Or discover Nausicaa, that delicious shell-like ring that will gently curl. Get your ear close to the pink amethyst crowning the ring, you may hear the ocean’s whisper.

Perles - Le Sens du détail

Mathon Paris has loved to play with its home-built, distinctive style, since the first sketches by Roger Mathon, the company’s founder. Today, this statement style combined to a spotless manufacturing are the main reasons why Mathon Paris is part of these French gems not to be missed. Le Sens du Détail invites you to meet Mathon Paris’s pieces in your next displays!
